Mt. Kirkjufell (463 m) is the most prominent mountain in Grundarfjörður, Iceland and a landmark of the fishing town. The mountain is free-standing and referred to as the most beautiful mountain on the Snæfellsnes peninsula, Iceland.
Kirkjufell mountain looks very different every day, even every hour as the weather in Iceland changes very quickly.
The painting is my attempt to give the viewer the feeling of the strong wind, "before the storm feeling"...

The painting is a formal approach to landscape, to paint the essence of landscape, to be aware of light, space and emptiness in landscape. I am constantly reducing and simplifying elements of the landscape, making them more schematic and conceptual, as well as much flatter.
