Open Air Fayette County…Thurmond, WV

Thurmond, WV is considered a ghost town, definitely a shadow of what it was during the height of the railroad/coal mining years of mountaineer history. Trains still pass through the remnant of a town, along with rafters, campers, and various forms of tourists who visit the site. The train depot-turned-museum is one of the iconic Images left. I loved painting here amid an almost tangible sense of history.
