I sketched whilst being on an expedition. I remember I had no time to create an underdrawing in pencil, so I used to dive straight in with a rigger paintbrush and draw in ultramarine. This is one of a series of fleeting watercolour sketches as I observed the changing light painted with seawater. Our task on this project was to build a cabin for disabled kayakers, which is still there.
