Ellison Pond is actually a dammed section of Davis Creek in Kanawha State Forest in Charleston, WV. Judging by the number of people fishing from the banks, I take it to be a good fishing spot. The attraction for me, however, was the lovely array of greens in contrast with the mud-toned water. A great location for hiking, fishing, picnicking, and plein air painting, of course, Kanawha State Park is a welcome spot for anyone who wants to enjoy the great outdoors.
