This distant view of Blackwater Falls was painted from the “Gentle” Trail. Yes, that’s what the sign said, and the trail WAS easy going. I actually rolled my art gear to the platform. The access was much easier, but not as dramatic. There is something to be said for painting in a fine mist from the falls. This park is a wonderful place to stay for an extended period or visit for a day, and for plein air painting...well, I could stay for another week and still find something to paint.
