Turner’s View at Plumpton
Lisa Pickard
@lpfa
This is the view painted by William Turner at Plumpton Rocks near Harrogate as one of his first commissions. Painted mostly plein-air (until it started to rain) then finished at home. It was created with clear gesso on blue mounting board followed by an underpainting with ArtGraf blocks and finished with soft pastels.
