Sailing with one´s dad is always special

@vivi

My friend Bruno and his father sailing "Princesa do Tejo" near the Farol do Bugio at the entrance of the Tagus estuary into Lisbon. This was a happy day that reminded me of my happy days sailing with my own father.

Princesa do Tejo is a "canoa"- an old lateen sailed wooden boat - of a kind of which there used to be thousands, but sadly now are only a few. She is lovingly resanded and repainted every single year after the summer sailing season, and the only one of these beautiful old boats with these colours.

There are associations of these boats- all of which are part of the living museum of the Portuguese Navy. If you are lucky, you can get to go out on one of them that way.

Leslie Wolfe Beautiful painting, Veronica. Love how you captured the strength and love between father and son and love your remembrance of your own experiences with your dad. You definitely have a painting truly from your heart.
