I saw this view where the trees were framing pools of sunlight on the grassy floor. In old master landscapes such as Claude Lorrain's paintings, trees were often used as a framing device (Repoussoir), to draw the viewer's eyes into the painting. But I would like to make the trees the focus of the painting as well; when sunlight dances through the leaves it is a treat for the eyes.
