Minesing Grain Elevators

Everyone always asks, "Is this Saskatchewan?" because of the bright wheat field. It's in Minesing, Ontario, home to the famed Minesing Wetlands.


We were driving on the backroads hoping to capture something interesting when we passed this farm in the late afternoon (after a day of plein air painting). Brakes were swiftly applied, and I got out to take several shots for reference. This was the end result, very satisfying! Thick brush strokes emphasize the flowing wheat field while the late afternoon sun glints off the grain elevators.
