It took me a while to find the right spot, but the view from the other side of the river back towards Lauenburg was just perfect to paint.
I checked with the people living in the house next door and they said that it was not only OK to paint there, but that many artists come and paint that particular view from there.

The challenge about painting in that particular spot is that the sun angle changes really fast and the shadows on the buildings move from one side to the other. There is no natural shade there either, so an umbrella is really important in order to avoid getting the colours really wrong!

This took me three days and about 16 hours in total to complete.
