Halcyon Days

@vivi

Just below Peninha, with Palacio da Pena seen in the distance.
Park near Casa da Mata and walk up (seeing foxgloves, frogs, mimosa, and or fireflies depending on the season and time- but for that, as the hill is steep, do not go overloaded), or in the parking of Peninha (but if you park there, do not leave valuables in your car because it is a well known area for theft, probably because it is so isolated). There is a fresh water spring just below Peninha. Be careful around there if you take a dog- there are salamandars around there which sometimes stray on to the path. Salamandars are highly toxic- so if you do, put your dog on a leash at that point.

Leslie Wolfe Beautiful painting, Veronica. I enjoyed reading your story about the area. Love how you painted the fur on your beloved companion.
