Fazenda Sete Quedas

@vhackbart

In the past, Fazenda Sete Quedas was marked by stories of generations of families, fundamental for the memory of Campinas, noble titles and also Italian and German immigrants who came to work as settlers in the Brazilian lands in search of a better life. Perhaps one of the most expressive names in the succession genealogy of Sete Quedas is the Visconde de Indaiatuba, honorary title of the farmer Joaquim Bonifácio do Amaral. He was the first farmer to replace slave labor in the region by German immigrants. But Sete Quedas also housed a group of Italian immigrants who arrived in Brazil and came directly to the farm to work in the fields. These and other souvenirs are told by descendants of another Fazenda owner, Fernão Pompeu de Camargo, who became a street name in Campinas, considered a liberal who tried to plant up cotton. Before, leaving the center of Campinas and visiting the Fazenda was a "trip", and now it is only a ten minute ride. As a landmark and center of the golden age, it still follows the mansion. Preserved more than two centuries ago, it resists firmly to time and integrates itself with modernity.
