From Glenwood Springs take Midland Ave south to Four Mile Rd (Co Rd. 117), go right on Four Mile (only way you can go, actually). Go ten miles to Forest Service Road 300, just before Sunlight Ski area. On this map it is mislabeled as a continuation of CR 117, but it is actually a dirt road, FS 300. Go about 4 1/2 miles to a parking area or you can keep going if the road is open. Many beautiful scenes for painters who don't need grand snowcapped peaks or spectacular waterfalls to make a good painting. Great place for painting Aspens.
