Denise D. Nelson of Sherrills Ford, NC is a traditional oil painter with a passion for the time honored studio techniques of classical realism and “Plein Air” painting on location in the open air. Her career as a professional artist spans more than three decades including work in the areas of wildlife, portraiture, landscape, and still life.
Upon earning a BFA in studio painting, Denise spent many years as a commission and competitive canine, waterfowl conservation and wildlife stamp artist, working with organizations including N.C. Ducks Unlimited, N.C Wildlife Resources Commission, S.C Quail Unlimited, and the Coastal Conservation Association of Georgia.
