Hey there! I'm Debra Lyn, a watercolor and mixed media artist that enjoys paintings with loose vibrant color in an intuitive and impressionistic painting style.
Before diving into the world of art, I actually worked as an interior designer. My eye for aesthetics and the transformative power of colors has always been a part of me. But I felt this burning desire to express myself on a more personal level, and that's what led me to pursue a career in fine arts.
Currently residing in sunny Naples, Florida, I am constantly inspired by the breathtaking coastal landscapes and vibrant flora that surround me. They find their way into my artwork, infusing it with life and energy.
In addition to my artwork, I'm also passionate about sharing my knowledge and connecting with others who share the same excitement for art. That's why I started my YouTube channel. It has become a wonderful platform where I can explore different mediums, share techniques, and engage with fellow artists and art enthusiasts. I wholeheartedly believe that the true beauty of watercolor is experienced when you allow it to take you on a journey, rather than trying to control every aspect. There's a certain magic that unfolds when you surrender to the medium and let the colors flow and blend in unexpected ways. It's in those moments of artistic exploration and spontaneity that the true essence of watercolor comes alive.
As I always say, "the true beauty of watercolor is experienced when you allow the watercolor to take you on a journey instead of you taking it on one."
