Where the windmills turn
Rebecca Hock
@rebeccahock_art
Whenever I visit family in the Netherlands, the sight of the windmills warms my heart. That uniquely calm landscape of flat green polders and cows, winding rivers and straight canals, crowned with the old windmills that were built to create the land itself, brings back so many memories from my earliest childhood.
This painting was inspired by all the times I was with my beloved aunts who live near Kinderdijk, where the 19 huge windmills are a UNESCO World Heritage Site that you can visit.
Painted with Sennelier l'Aquarelle watercolours on 300gsm cold pressed paper.
